I’m John, the filmmaker behind Spark & Story Films. I create wedding films for couples who want their day captured in a way that feels thoughtful, emotional and true to them.
More Than Just Your Videographer
After filming for more than a decade, I’ve realised my role is about much more than simply filming a wedding.
On a typical wedding day you’ll probably find me straightening ties, pinning buttonholes back on, helping with a dress bustle, calming pre-ceremony nerves or quietly making sure the best man knows exactly when to hand over the rings.
The less you have to think about me, the more you can enjoy your wedding. That’s when the best moments happen.

My wife, Sam, is also a wedding photographer, and we regularly work together to offer a seamless photography and videography experience for couples who want beautifully coordinated coverage. Because we know each other’s way of working so well, everything feels easy, well-paced and never overdone.

I only take on a limited number of exclusive weddings each year, and my calendar tends to get reserved 12 to sometimes 24 months in advance. To secure your desired date, it's advisable to book as early as possible, as my schedule can fill up quite rapidly.

Contact me to confirm my availability for your wedding date initially. Following that, we can schedule a meeting and grab a coffee or through a video call to delve deeper into your requirements.

To secure your special day in my calendar, there is a non-refundable booking fee of £400 at the time of reservation. This ensures exclusivity for your wedding date and guarantees that I won't schedule any other commitments on that day.
Additionally, this booking fee covers administrative costs from the time of booking until the final balance is settled. It's a small step that goes a long way in making your wedding planning process seamless. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out—I'm here to assist you every step of the way.

Absolutely! I'm thrilled to be a part of your special day! For locations beyond a 1 hour and 30-minute travel time, I kindly request accommodation the night before. The last thing anyone wants is to be caught in unexpected delays or traffic, especially on such an important day like your wedding. I strive to be as close as possible on the wedding day, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience.

The complete balance is required six weeks prior to the wedding date. You have the option to settle the final balance through either a bank transfer or credit/debit card payment.
